The SOLID project invites applications for small research projects in 2026. The initiative brings together researchers and practitioners working on drug use and related social and health issues in Central Asia and China.
We will fund up to four small empirical research projects (up to 7,000 EUR each) that address one or more of the following areas: (1) social work and the treatment of drug addiction, (2) communicable diseases (HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis C), and (3) social work in closed institutions such as prisons or compulsory treatment facilities. Projects should be aligned with the SOLID thematic focus.
Eligible applicants include SOLID alumni, researchers, and practitioners based in Central Asia and China. Current SOLID PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are not eligible to apply as principal investigators.
The deadline for applications is 30 April 2026. Selected projects will be conducted between May and September 2026, with final reports due by 31 October 2026.
