From 27 of April to 8 of May 2026, the SOLID team visited beautiful Kazakhstan. The first week we organized a PhD colloquium in Astana where we discussed the research projects and took a deep dive into research methodology. We also participated in a round table discussion on social work in the penitentiary system and the health care sector at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. In the second week, we took part in the international conference "Social Work in Action" at Al-Farabi University in Almaty. The visit was rounded off with an excursion to the mountains of Kazakhstan which offered plenty of opportunities for networking and discussion.
