Many subgroups of people who use drugs have unique needs and risks influenced by complex social, psychological, and systemic factors. Due to the diversity of experiences across subgroups, tailored harm reduction (HR) approaches are essential in minimizing negative consequences associated with high-risk behaviours while promoting empowerment and dignity.
